About.

Kent Parker is a Nashville-based songwriter, recording artist, and founder of Round Barn Music LLC. After years of writing and recording demos, Kent released his debut album, The Way, in early 2025. Bringing a thoughtful, deeply personal approach to songwriting, he recorded the album at renowned Nashville studios like Ocean Way and Blackbird, collaborating with some of the finest musicians and technicians in the industry. The Way is a testament to Kent’s dedication to authentic storytelling through music, featuring emotionally resonant narratives and compelling melodies.

Kent’s musical journey began at age 9 when he received a Hohner Marine Band harmonica and a Charlie McCoy album for Christmas. Self-taught, he learned both harmonica and guitar, but life took him in a different direction. After a long and accomplished business career, he rediscovered his love for music in 2019 and immersed himself in songwriting. Over the next few years, he wrote dozens of songs, recorded more than 60 demos, and ultimately decided to share his work with a wider audience. The Way reflects his journey, experiences, and artistic evolution.

A passionate traveler, Kent has explored over 70 countries and all 50 U.S. states. Alongside his wife, Laurie, he is on a quest to "live" in every state—an experience that continues to shape his songwriting. His music draws from a lifetime of stories, observations, and moments of introspection, crafted in the hope that listeners will find their own connections within the songs.

When not writing or recording, Kent enjoys the outdoors—whether on a bicycle, motorcycle, or piloting a hovercraft. He has a deep appreciation for the arts, history, and creative expression, all of which inform his music.

Raised on a multi-generational farm in Indiana, Kent is a proud 7th-generation Hoosier. Though he now calls Nashville home, he frequently retreats to his songwriting studio in Indiana, where the quiet surroundings provide space for inspiration.
